Getting rid of the number

Postby 2crows » Wed May 09, 2012 8:25 pm

I have been looking around trying to find how to get rid / zero out my national insurance number.

Does anyone have any links or literature on this matter ?

Well from what i gather that is the number they use to identify you as a "government employee" to tax you.

I did see the video on freetheplanet also where he reads the letters out about how eventually HMRC sent him confirmation his NI has been zeroed out an now he is non taxable.>

What information do you have about NI in these regards ?

I do know that you dont have to have a national inssurance number attached to your bank account, you can tell them to delete it. I have phoned my bank and asked this question and they told me all i have to do is go in tell them to delete it, but that would mean signing to do that.

Well i guess its a matter of a written ommison that i am un-taxable. I know, we all ready are an its a a scam, but for example.

I had a job lined up recently (months work in march) when the agency called to to ask details they the details they wanted most was my NI number to prove i could work in the uk and "so i could be taxed". i sated to them that i was under my threshold for taxation for the year so it didnt matter and that i can show them my birth certificate and passport, to prove my uk right to work. but they said the thing they wanted was NI and p45 more than everything else, at one point she even siad your birth certificate isnt good enough to prove it.

I refused to give them my NI because they didnt need to have it, and i would be sorting out my own tax returns etc...etc and it wasnt their business to arrange my tax, it was between me and HMRC. I told her to call next day so i could send copy of B-C and PASS over to her at which point she told me that i was not able to work for them because i wouldnt give Ni number.

i explained to her to to actually give any of those things was fraud because i would be claiming to be somebody i am not byt offer that info, and even read the bottom of B-C to her where it sates "WARNIG A CERTIFICATE ON NOT EVIDENCE OF INDENTITY" she didnt believe me.

My point is that if i can zero out NI via a paper work process then i can have that to offer to an employer when they ask for NI so they can see that i am tax exempt. So i will only have to give employer my name adress an bank to pay me at.

No i did not know that, that is why i was asking if anyone had info about this.

I dont consider it a major thing right now, just something i though was interesting to find out about.

I have contacted him about a couple of things, but not this yet. all of this came to light for me about 6 months back so guess i still have the eager an excited feeling about it all and learning much as i am able to.

As you know, you learn one thing then 5 more come into play.

Basically im unemployed, working only for myself to get some cash to live by creating graphics an selling the odd painting and i dont the bastards to tax me on the little i do get. Just want to be left alone like we all do. So want my paperwork in order if they do try it on.

Hi 2crows

I dont know if this will help but have a look into it.

I came across a document a while ago called the charter of fundamental rights of the european union. I did a bit of research on it and found out it was passed in 2000 and came into force in this country 2009 with the lisbon treaty. Article 15 reads like this.

1 Everyone has the right to engage in work and to pursue a freely chosen and accepted occupation.
2 Every citizen of the union has the freedom to seek employment, to work, to exercise the right of establishment and to provide services in any member state.

To me this is stating you can work tax free as a man but as a citizen you can only work through the employment contract and thus be taxed.
if any body has any takes on this i would like to hear them as i value everybodys opinion.

I have noticed that our NI number seems to be asked for more and more, for reasons not connected to tax and work. I have a bus pass application & it asks for NI number, (which is what has held me back from applying), also a 'fishing' license apparently requires one too.

My OH has been job hunting for a while & I have noticed this insistence on having to prove you are eligible to work in the UK. I don't remember this so much last time I was job hunting. There is something not quite right about it.

Hi elle12022, i presume eventually everything that requires you to pay money will ask for NI number so they can get the cash and access your account. Though I cant find anything strong enough that suggests we have an account. I had a fishing licence last year and didnt have to give my NI number but never renewed it as i dont need permision to fish on my land. :D

If anybody has any good info on this account please share.
