help please HMRC debt collector now calling

Postby johnr » Thu Jul 12, 2012 4:28 pm

I'm new to this and hope I havn't left it too late. Has anyone had success with HMRC debt collectors chasing PAYE payments ? They called when I was not in and apparently will be calling again soon. It seems from what I have seen of this site so far that it is mostly successful with banks and third party debt collectors. However does anyone know, if I were to phone the revenue and pay what I can will they sell the rest of the debt on to a third party when I default ? or is there something else I should be doing at this stage ? Its about £19k they are chasing and the most I could find is £1K so its a bit desperate, it's very scary and I would be really grateful for advise to point me in the right direction.
Cheers
