I understand how serious this business is with Promissory Notes but can someone tell me what the next step is SHOULD the bank NOT ACCEPT the Promissory Note that I send by registered mail or hand to a bank manager in person?

This only works with Banks and Governments running under the same Legal-Rules.

You cannot trade it to the places that deal in Stamp-Trading (they would not know what to do with it anyway).

The way the banks make money off these things is via the selling of your Signature on an Exchange-Market.

The templates on this site for the Notes also seem to be incomplete (they require additional specific wordings).

Hi there, i am just in the process of putting together my first promissory note, i am using your templates, however i seen on some other tutorials that i should add more information... i have not seen the tutorial on this site as it seems to have been removed.

I have several questions i would like help with before posting this off if possible.

* Should i give this bill an issue number i make up myself?
* Should i add my National Insurance number?
* Should i add "The full amount specified on this note for the value received"?
* Should i add my terms and conditions to the promissory note?
* I am currently in Ireland away from UK where my bank is based, should i get it signed by the authorities here?
* And finally should i copyright my name before proceeding with this method?

Many thanks in advance and thankyou for providing such a valuable tool for people to use.

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but I am unable to open the Promissory Notes when I download them. I am trying to open them using Microsoft Word on my MacBook Pro. It keeps telling me that it can't open the file.

Word was unable to read this document. It may be corrupt.
Try one or more of the following:
* Open and Repair the file.
* Open the file with the Text Recovery converter.
(promnote 12.30.54 PM.doc)

Any idea's as to why this may be?

I have now been able to open the file with Libre Office. So if anyone has a MacBook Pro they should us Libre Office to open the Promissory Note Template.
