Received this in the post this morning. It's kinda what I expected from MBNA. I used the "standard template" from getoutofdebtfree website and information from elsewhere to serve a Notice. What part of the term "Non-Negotiable" did they not understand?. I got the impression from reading through their reply that there is an air of desperation within the language used. I hasten to add I do have acknowledgement from them that the Credit Card Agreement is "Unenforceable" although that was stated in a letter I received from them last week. Well, the 2nd Notice is very nearly ready to go (prepared in advance) and has only to be modified referencing their reply as received today. I gave them xxx days to which to reply to the 1st Notice (they chose not to use the time wisely) and the 2nd Notice only has 7 days to which to reply so its entirly up to them. Here is their reply anyway. Any thoughts as always would be most welcomed:

Well I was being generous with xxx days for the 1st Notice but they have chosen not to use the full 30 days. I see no reason why I should give them 10 days actaully to reply to the 2nd Notice. I was gonna only give them 7 as I believe that is fair considering the contempt they have shown thus far. Thanks for the feedback anyway Ceylon.

That's a very nice signature on IT'S letter I might add. Brush Script font in all caps if I'm not mistaken. I guess a human being couldn't be mustered by MBNA up to communicate with you.

yes and considering there's about 5000 working at their Chester site it's very rude

Judgesprocket that's the same letter I and others have received...maybe they use a template :o although i must say that i sent all my letters before they even sent me a reply. Good luck with them

It is indeed very rude but not unexpected given the state of so called "customer service" these days. Just another template letter issued in the hope you will go away.
