Very interested in hearing how this has worked out for you.
Am considering the same course of action and also have a Career Development Loan with Barclays that I cannot repay as I can't get a job!
I've not even had a look at the whole website or process yet but if someone can please explain in laymans terms how this actually works then it would be appreciated!

I'm glad that you have found this thread useful; you haven't hi-jacked it at all, that's why I posted it. This is for a Career Development loan, and I also did not feel that my career was adequately developed as a result of taking the loan (which I did before I was aware of all of this). If I was to start this all again, I would probably buy the membership upgrade for £5 because that looks like it provides everything you need to get on with the process. Ceylon is right, you need to do your homework, but I have found that I have learnt a lot by going through the process myself (with the support of this forum).

Aw, thanks so much. I too feel my Career Development Loan is now void and useless considering the market. Especially as I am jobless!
I will definitely research further and so far have found some more evidence on a few different sites supporting the information given here so that's a good start! I am sure I will post again needing assistance, but thanks all for the positive comments so far. Wishing you all the best with your finances!
