ceylon.........It`s now 2 days past the time given to the bank as per the letter.

So effectively they have as yet ignored both letters.

Unfortunately a letter was received addressed to "The Occupier" was opened by someone else in the home when I was out asking "Sir or Madam if they know where I am to contact them in confidence, concerning a personal matter.

It was from a collection agency but not a third party agency, as in the small print at the foot of the letter it states is a member of the banks group and operations of internal complaints :?

Very underhand but it is a bank I`m dealing with.

To sum up they have ignored my 2 letters asking for a final balance.

The department I wrote to is the only one of the banks that had my new address details.

This wasn`t in the script ;)

Don`t really want to return the letter as it has been opened.

Shall I ignore it and proceed to letter 1? Although I have no actual definite account balance figure. Thank you.

Thanks again ceylon, just one final point before I send off letter 1.
I know some just direct letters 1 to 3 to the person (I say person because that is how they conduct their business as) that has been writing to them. I have no problem sending the correspondance to the CEO.

Would I just send this to the head office and not the previous person`s address that is from the collection department. I say this as I really don`t know where the CEO will direct my letter to.

Apologies as the answer may be very obvious to you but I feel I don`t want to make any mistakes to start with.

Thank you.

Here we go  I knew there was something I wasn`t sure of and did not mention.

In letter 1 where it states near the beginning (2) Verification of your claim against me. As the template letter suggests sending to the CEO this is where my confusing is.
The CEO has not made any claim against me so do I leave the letter as it is?
Is it assumed that it is the bank claim and not the CEO`s?

Also I have bank statements and a letter from last year from the collection department giving me 10 days to contact the bank and agree repayment terms satisfactory to them.

How is the use of the word claim defined in my example please? Bearing in mind that they have ignored my letters and even the in house collection department addressed their letter to "The Occupier".

Apologies again for not quite comprehending this, I feel others may have similar questions.

Thanks again

i have never sent a letter to a CEO i have only sent letters to whoever sent them to me and they work well, if you are sending them to the CEO as i understand it you still also need to send one to whoever sent it to you as i see it this is a waist of time as the letter to whoever sent it to you work. the choice is yours it's as difficult or as easy as you want to make it.
