If the worst comes to the worst and they illegally force an installation of a Prepayment meter, i can then ask them for a receipt for the extra charges they added on to my bill. For instance:

Cost of visit to my property £54
Application for a legal warrant £52
Execution of warrant per fuel £150
late payment charge £14

Don't forget to challenge them about the health issues associated with the new smart meters.

Must visit my friend who sent them a letter saying they had 10 days to come and get their property after 10 days it would be classed as abandoned and storage charges would be added as it would be replaced with one of their own that was 4/5 months ago must see how they got on

Attached is British Gas Trading Ltd's memorandums and articles of association.
You might want to use this and quote section 4.22 to back up your method of payment.

I'm suprised they returned your prom note and wondered if you had maybe not correctly made it ?
Ive been dealing with Shane Bonney since last year and not had any prom notes returned so its odd they returned yours.

I would also advise to put up trespass notices and notice BG of the fact with a fee schedule.
Ive recently sent them a demand notice for £25000.00 for trespass after one of their employees turned up at my property and theyve gone pretty quiet.

All the best.

and here is the extract in question from their document:

4.22 To draw, make, accept, endorse, discount, negotiate, execute and issue cheques, bills of
exchange, promissory notes, bills of lading, warrants, debentures and other negotiable or
transferable instruments.

and after receiving their latest attempt to threaten disconnection of my gas if payment is not made within 5 working days or exchange your current gas meter for a pay as you go meter blah blah blah...

which proves they are bluffing and trying to use scare tactics :D :D :D

I understand that the golden time for accepting a promissary note is 3 days max once received by recorded delivery, according to the Bank of England FOI Request I read. I think it might be a good idea to photograph or video the documents you put in your envelope, scribble the seal on the back of the envelope. :?: :?: :?:

I've been having the same problems, E-on don't want to accept my A4V's or promissory notes they keep returning them and not answering any of my questions all the while still bugging me to pay their so called "bills" or they will install a pre-pay meter, bastards!!!!! Problem they can do that cause the meters are outside my flat
Don't know what to do now.... they are playing hardball, is there some way we can make them answer our questions???
What should be my next move???
