Help Letter 3

Postby rhonda9095 » Thu Apr 26, 2012 5:22 am

I've just sent out letter three to BofA on my car note which i owe $9k and this morning I got a sticker on my front door from a private investigator, my son called him, investigator said they needed to talk to me regarding the car and that the local police department has been informed. What does this mean? Are they going to try to arrest me? Can they arrest me? Thanks for your help. Rhonda

Thanks for your reply. I owe $9,000 at Bank of America for auto loan. I have already sent out all three letters. I sent them out 10 days apart just as the website instructed. I sent the last letter out on 4/18, I sent them to the CEO and copied the collection dept. The collection dept received my certified letter on 4/23. Then on 4/25 I'm on my way to work and I find a business card stuck to my front door from a private investigator. My son called the number on the card and they said they need to speak to me about the car and that Bank of America hired them to come look for the car and that the local police department has been informed about the matter. My question is; is this a scare tactic or will the local police arrest me or harass me because I haven't payed my car note and what would I tell them if they approach me? Thank you for your help. probably scare tactices, is this for finance or did you pretend to borrow some money then bye the car?
if finance they will try and take the car at some point depending on how much you have paid at least thats how it works here may be different over there

Thank you for your help. I did finance the car through Bank of America. Note was for approx 20,000, i now owe a little over 9,000. Today I received a phone call, I did not answer so they left a message stating that they were a private courier and that it was a courtesy call notifying me that a legal document under my name and social security number was forwarded over to them. A certified notice of intent pending claim and said she would be out tomorrow to my resident or my place of employment and I would have to show proof of ID and proof of Social Security number. and if they have to go to my place of employment that my manager would have to sign off as a witness. She gave me a number to call regarding the claim. The last thing she said was, "Ms. Gutierrez you have been notified." Should I call? What should I do? thank you for your help.

Hello again, after my 3rd letter mailed out on 5/22/12, lots of threats, but all has been quiet for about 2 months. My online banking states that the account balance is $0.00. I have not received a statement in the mail reflecting the 0 balance so I looked on my credit report and it says that the account was charged off, but I have not been contacted by any other creditor in regards of the account. ((*note: my account is a collateral account involving my car, 2008 Honda Civic with $9,000 left on the note which now says 0 balance, can they still repo my car?)) thank you so much for your help.
