I recently dealt with "Two Collection Agencies Trying to Collect on the Same Debt" --- see previous post. I sent both companies the 3 letters each and never heard a single word from either of them. Just when I thought it was over, the original creditor Discover Card contacts me with a letter dated April 12, 2012 stating that the debt is valid and I have to pay in full within 30 days. Along with this cover letter they sent almost every statement I have ever had with them in an envelope that burst open in the mail stream!
Also, the most important pieces they sent me were photocopies of the original application signed by me, as well as a check with my signature on it. It appears to me that at least one debt collector sold back the debt to Discover Card and a grave robber at
Discover did the work to dig up the corpse of what they believe to be a signed invoice against my word. It feels like they are ready to push this into the courts soon. What should I do now?
