Cabot Ireland credit card

Postby Doocs » Wed Apr 25, 2012 10:55 pm

Hi all

Have received a letter from Cabot and then solicitors to my parents house and former
Address in Ireland. I haven't lived in Ireland since 2003 value 1000 euros.

Cabot advise they are working for the bank but have not bought the debt.

I have been advised to refuse to pay as debt is actually statute barred before this I had agreed to pay 50% in an email.

What to do please help :(

Because I dont know how to tell if us barred

Card is 8 years old and I may have replied to an email about it in say 2008 I can't remember, would that restart clock?
I have been advised no email
Means nothing

Have been given a default statute batted type email to send them but as I don't live there part of
Me doesn't want my parents getting hassling letters

I am not no way giving them my new address in currents location

So - what would you do ?

And if I did send an email ? It's an old email address I can't tell nor find it

Would that constitute contact ? Legally ? Have been advised no , email can come from anyone

I havent actually spoke to a solicitor but have been advisers by people who claim to know

Would you agree is what I am saying

You think to completely ignore is the best policy then ?
