Confused about sending a letter

Postby GoodEgg » Sat May 19, 2012 2:40 am

As I've stated previously, just got my first letter out to the Bank of America CEO, the Bank of America Customer Assistance Department and the Debt Collection Agency that contacted me in the past week.

The 2 letters from B of A's Customer Assistance Department stated that the credit card account was administered by FIA Credit Services but that correspondence should be sent to Bank of America at an address which I believe is the same as FIA's. These letters were on Bank of America letterhead.

I have had no "obvious" correspondence from FIA Credit Services.

The letter from the debt collector states that the creditor is FIA Credit Services and NOT Bank of America.

**there is a new address for FIA Credit Services provided on the debt collection letter where payment should be sent.

So....I am not sure what to do about FIA Credit Services in the 3 letter process.

Are they covered with the Customer Assistance Department cc or do I need to start over with letter 1 again and include FIA in the bank letter cc batch now that I have an additional address for them (a payment address)?

Can I just put a belated cc copy of the bank letter in the mail now if necessary?

Im concerned about not getting everyone in tacit.

Wondering if I am going to lose credibility if this is indeed a misstep.

This has gotten terribly confusing and I've barely started!

Thanks so much in advance for the feedback.

sounds like they are playing silly buggers.I'd send it again to the new corporation mentioned and see how they go with that.
all the best with it all.

I was editing my original post when you were responding I think.

Ceylon, FIA is not new- they were identified as the administrators of the card per the two letters I've received on Bank of America letterhead and signed by the "Customer Assistance Department". I was directed to send correspondence to "Bank of America".

I've had no direct correspondence from FIA. Nothing on FIA Credit Services Letterhead or a signature from "FIA Credit Services"

Letter and CCs have been sent to Bank CEO, Customer Assistance Department and debt collector so far.

I have two potential addresses for FIA Credit Services - the address where I sent the cc letter to the Customer Assistance Department AND the payment address provided by the debt collector.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to send FIA letters but should I send to both addresses?

Assuming I am sending FIA the bank CEO cc letter, can it be sent a week behind the original and other ccs or do I have to start the whole letter 1 process over and resend to everybody?

OK. Thank you.

So I've already got one of the FIA addresses covered by the Customer Assistance Department so I think I'll send the 3 letters to the FIA address on the payment portion of the debt collector letter.

So I'm clear..

1) My understanding is that there is no need to redo my initial letter to Bank CEO - I am just making a copy of the original Letter #1 sent and sending that copy "as is" tp FIA Credit Services, correct?

For future Letters 2, 3, and Estoppel to Bank CEO, I'll add FIA Credit Services to cc line along with Customer Assistance Department.

Your comment about a new letter has confused me again.

I am going to cc FIA Credit Services because they were identified as the creditor (in a debt collection letter) and the administrator of the credit card by the "Customer Assistance Department" at Bank of America. Have never received a direct letter from them and it seems clear that they ARE Bank of America.

So, is a cc correct here? I thought where the banks are concerned, the CEO is the main addressee and all other bank players were cc'ed.
