I have read if i go the Ombudsman route then when a decission is made that will be cast in stone and there will be no need for court because its been ruled on..
I am really pissed off...basically they received all the letters by reg post and just said to hell with these and put a registered judgement against my house...how is this possible?

I really need concrete suggestions..i am in Rep of Ireland and need local law advice.

Thanks
AL

Hi Guys,

I need some advice on a solicitors letter received. It Says..

We refer to the civil bill served on you(i never signed for anything)by reg post dated...We propose to apply for the judgement in default of appearance within 14 days from the date hereof,in the event that the debt has not been discharged to our clients.
The heading of letter states me v ... and the circuit court record number.

Thats it..

This letter was sent by normal post and i have already done up a bill...but what else shoud i be doing now?

Thanks

A note on the registered letter and whether i signed or not..

I was talking to a friend and he said that the courts take into account that the reg letter was sent to my address and therefore is acceptable as being read..

any thoughts on this?

Also if they are indeed looking for judgement what are my options now...I owe them 30k and maybe i could wait until the last minute to offer 5k...which would put me under serious financial stress...but if it gets these guys off my back i would do it..

again any help here..

by the way i did send the bill to them..should i send them another letter saying i will countersue?
