RECORDED DELIVERY

Postby spera » Tue Mar 13, 2012 7:54 pm

Ready to send my first copyright letter(letter 1) with a blank copyright notice.I have stamped the letter with 13/03/12 and completed the procedure ready to post, however post office is shut until tomorrow. So two questions to answer if anyone can help me as I may need to re do them depending on answers below.
1= Does the recorded delivery date at post office need to be the same as the date on letter 1.
2= Does the blank copyright notice need to be dated the same as your original copyright notice
thank you.

When sending letter 2, (its now 12 days since i posted letter 1) does letter 2 :
1=need to be dated AT LEAST 10 days after letter 1 was dated
2= exactly 10 days after letter 1 was dated.
much appreciated in advance.

Ideally yes to keep the time to obtain tacit to the minimum but so long as all three letters are sent with the minimum specified interval then it will be fine. For various reasons there have been times when the gap between my letters has been far greater than I would have liked but in the end, despite my unintentional generosity, I still established tacit.

I know this is obvious , I had problems with tracking my recorded delivery for my first letters. I entered the code and it came up no information yet etc. What it didnt flag up is that I had entered an incorrect code, so it was always going to show no info yet.I rang the post office gave them my number V236.....ETC, TO BE TOLD ITS A COMMON PROBLEM the V was a U. Once i altered the V with U no probs. If it had said incorrect number entered I would have sussed it sooner. It was a mistake I made so thought I'd share it , I'm not embarrassed.

Some advice regards recorded delivery via royal mail to Satander please. I've sent letter 1 on the 19/03/12 and letter 2 on the 27/03/12. Both letters are showing as ''processing''. Royal mail inform me that with a big company who receive allot of mail like Satander, Satander themselves will update the system to show delivered. This doesn't seem right as ive paid royal mail to inform me not Satander who have an interest in the delivery/or not. Any ideas anyone thanks spera.

ps just been on the phone and EVENTUALLY got to speak to a living soul.Very helpful , understood my concerns regards above. The 19/03/12 letter is Progressing Through Our Network , which means it has been scanned by the post office that I paid recorded delivery at. From there it is entered on a sheet and delivered with a load of other recorded mail. The Sheet is taken with mail off the postman by a satander employee.Satander will in time/days confirm what they have/haven't received on the sheet and return that information to royal mail.So based on what satander have confirmed the royal mail will then updated the system to delivered / not delivered status. The nice lady at royal mail informed me that a company would not do themselves justice if they kept denying delivery against an individuals recorded delivery receipt as it would look very suspect if happened more than a one off.I said why cant the post person scan my letter on delivery then its job done as not ideal that its in the hands of Satander to confirm, as its you I pay to do that not them and on top of which Satander have an interest. She agreed its not ideal but only way they at present can do large deliveries.I thanked her for her time and pleasant manner as its not personal.
