Private Family Trust

Postby Buffy1973 » Wed Apr 25, 2012 10:43 am

Hi all, I have been thinking about putting all my belongings into trust as I am having a pretty bad time at the moment with bailiffs and DCA's. I have found a template online and it seems to be what I'm looking for in order to protect my belongings and those of my husband and our 18 year old daughter. I will need to adapt it slightly to meet my needs, however, it looks the business, so I thought I would post a link here so everyone else can get to it. Apologies if it has already been posted.

Me neither, Angela, however, I am learning. From what I have gathered so far, this template seems spot on.

That's the way to go, Buffy, and what I'm also planning. You can find related useful information on Michael of Elmet's site:

I was thinking about doing this, but when I contacted 2 separate solicitors I was told point blank that putting my property into trust would NOT protect me, I wonder if anyone could clarify on this as I am having a real hard time dealing with this issue.

I am not particularly sure of the implications of putting my house into trust, due to a mental health illness I kind of have to have everything explained in laymans terms to grasp it all.

Not sure on this, it's something I am only just scratching the surface of myself, however, I would have thought that, due to your illness, the Solicitors you approached would have advised you to put your assets into trust.
