Remember you can also bill Metropolitan if they try to contact you AFTER the Tacit agreement between you is in force, Not before. They already know this which is why they passed the alleged debt to someone else.

I would send them a copy of their letter marked copy, and highlight the area send cheque or credit card details etc and tell them that unless they leave you alone or provide you with what you have asked for then you will be contacting the FSA and lodging a complaint Metropolitan and the member of staff who wrote to you...

I think you would be operating in honor. I have read that whoever makes the claim must also provide the remedy. You have given them two remedies to settle without need for outside intervention (involving FSA etc). Just my opinion and in no way meant as legal advice. Take it or leave it.

Hi PW,

I haven't heard from METROPOLITAN since they passed it on to DG; due to send estoppel to them on 13/5. DG haven't responded yet and I am due to send them Standard Letter 3 on 4/5.

I'm pleased to hear that you have been finding my posts helpful. How have you found the whole process?

Cheers,

f.

Hi Fairchop, good stuff. Hope you get a good outcome from it all. I've been finding it easy enough. Had fun to start with with the telephone calls and was looking forward to getting post so I could reply to letters. Got Metropolitan in tacit didn't hear from them for 30 days then sent them estoppel. Then I got a letter from them 2 days later and they'd backdated their letter by 7 days so it looked like they had wrote to me before I sent estoppel (sneaky so and so's). Then about 2 weeks ago I read somebody else's post who was seeking advice on a claim form he'd received and in the end his Defence was thrown out and he got a CCJ. This started me getting a bit nervious but then I just kept doing loads of reading and looking at other people's posts and to be honest I'm not that bothered now if solicitors instructed and claim form received. What can they do, they can't send me to prison and they can't get blood from a stone so all I can do is send in a Defence and counterclaim for 3 x what they allege I owe them and see what happens from there. I'm not going to let it bother me I'm just going to keep on playing the game. Once again, good luck ;)

Awesome. It is reassuring to hear from someone who is in the same position with exactly the same attitude. Thank you. I will continue to post my progress. Fingers crossed. There comes a time when standing up for what's right eclipses any "obligation" to these financial terrorists (I have also, in the past, expressed my disgust at HSBC using our money to invest in companies that manufacture cluster bombs. We don't want to be a part of that, by proxy).

Good luck,

fairchop :-)

The latest installment from METROPOLITAN (attached). I guess I just wait for JB Debt Recovery to contact me, then start the 3 letter process with them.
